My Friday Five. Five things I've been implementing and exploring this week.
* I took this photo at a macro workshop and it got lots of oohhs and aahhs. I can see fifty things I would have done differently.
Book I'm Reading: Greenlights by Mathew McConaughey
Greenlights is meant to be heard not read. McConaughey uses his voice for the audio version. He doesn't say the words to his recent memoir or even merely read them. He feels each story, reliving it as he remembers those moments. His parents divorced each other twice and remarried each other three times. Heartbreak led him to get involved in his hometown of Uvalde, TX where there was a recent mass shooting. He is an intriguing storyteller. What inspired me most was how unashamed he is of his mistakes, successes and lucky breaks. Writing with heart and honesty, from journals he has kept for decades, he crafts an intricate story of family, goals and being true to yourself. He is much more than a stoned naked guy getting arrested for playing bongos. I highly recommended listening and enjoying the poetry, the humor and the inspiration.
Success Story:
I have sent my acupuncture book off to the publisher
It is a very, very short book introducing me and my style of acupuncture. It will be available on Amazon and for free download from my website. I'll post links when it is published. We are still edited and designing the covers. In addition, I also sent a full-length book to an editor. I should get the draft back mid-August. It is written to healers that are just getting started on how to avoid common mistakes and stay motivated while building a successful practice. Since I'm on a roll, and why not, I am about to completed a short book on my top nutrition tips that will also be available for download.
Quote I'm meditating on:
“Fear is the cheapest room in the house. I want you to live in better conditions.“ - Ellie Holcomb
Product I'm using:
Easy set up and ridiculously fun pool game. Throw some buoyant beanbags into a three tiered tower. I'm terrible at it and I love it!
Music I'm listening to that makes me happy:
What About Us by Pink
ps I do not have any affiliation with the products mentioned. I like them and want you to know about them.
Just checked out "Greenlights" and it is next up on audible ... Thanks. Also loved Ellie Holcomb.
